Leimert Park is a neighborhood in the southern region of Los Angeles. It was developed in the 1920s and serves as an energetic residential neighborhood today. Known for its hip-hop scene and rich cultural elements, it has historically attracted a wide variety of high-energy people. 
Leimert Park is a beautiful place to be with Spanish Colonial Revival homes and splendorous shaded streets. It also offers much in the way of culture and arts. Residents here tend to hang around Leimert Park Village, the area’s bustling shopping center, and the Vision Theater. Just as Leimert Park is a testament to the area’s rich cultural background, it too continuously provides ample arts, cultural, and outdoor opportunities.

They also, however, appreciate the short distance to nearby restaurants and shops. The District by GS is a trendy atmosphere with chic wall hangings and plants and serving delicious wings, bar food, and cocktails. Likewise, A1 Burger has delicious American food and burgers in a laid-back space, and Hungry Harold’s is another cherished burger joint. Both restaurants are great for a bite out with some friends and family or a fun date.
Many locals also love Woody’s Bar-B-Q, where they can choose from a juicy selection of meats and sauces. 
The World Stage performance gallery is a lively nonprofit dedicated to uplifting African American art and music and a booming hub of Leimert Park. Locals also frequent the Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center for their evening and weekend entertainment. 
Leimert Park is home to many unique shopping boutiques and malls. Oakbay Fits clothing is one of many eccentric spots. Leimert Park Village is abundant in unique and trendy stores as well as more well-known retailers. 

Things to Do

With an active community, Leimert Park always has something to do, and the Metro Light Rail makes getting around the city easy and convenient. 
In terms of festivals, Leimert Park keeps their calendar of events full. The Jazz Festival brings local and big-name jazz groups alike to the area. Paradise in the Park is another lively musical event, and the Pan African Festival and Taste of Soul are colorful affairs with incredible soul food and art. The New Media Film Festival is beloved by art and film aficionados throughout California. Leimert Park also regularly hosts various lectures, talks, and concert series.
